Green laning is an ideal way to see the countryside as you put your vehicle through its paces. The lanes can vary from extremely challenging right through to the M25 of tractor tracks (non damaging, no brambles or overhanging trees). Some lanes cross small rivers or mud holes and because it is the Bocage some lanes become small rivers! The lanes are also used by horse riders and quad bikers, especially challenging should you meet them coming from the opposite direction. Unlike the UK, people like to stop and have a chat even if it is just a chance to try out ‘Bonjour!’ If you are fortunate you will see the horse and traps, barrel top caravans or horse riders on endurance treks kitted out with all their equipment for a few days out, trekking.
Our local 4x4 club hold regular green lane days and whenever possible we offer you the opportunity to accompany us on their route. They are a welcoming bunch even if you don’t speak the language.
Personalised green laning trips can be arranged for groups at a cost of £40 per vehicle (minimum 4 vehicles). |
